    Flickring

    ffffood:

made an old recipe today. I used to make this a while ago but I am too damn lazy sometimes.
It’s a crossing between apple sauce and the filling of a French apple pastry.
I took all the apples in my fridge (which I don’t eat raw cause they don’t have the right consistency, color, taste, size..(yeah I am an idiot like that). I sorta took the skin off, cut them in cubes and threw them in a pan.
Then I added honey ( I rarely measure) and some brown sugar and cinnamon. I squeezed two limes on it. And let it stew for, I don’t exactly remember how long, maybe 20 minutes. with the lid on the pan, ocassionaly stirring.
I will get up and walk to the fridge to take a picture. Although it’s not a real pretty or taste sight I can assure you it is DELICIOUS.
You can eat it cold, as compote, or heat it in the microwave and serve it over vanilla ice cream….Yummy
( I took the pictures but too bad there is no smell internet yet….they look AWFUL compared to what this honest-to-goodness dessert tastes like!)
PD: maybe very annoying when posting here, but I rarely use measures (if not for recipes that really require exact measuring like a cake) I am convinced that just throwing things together according to ones own taste gives the best and most surprising results. That is how I discovered a lot of very nice combinations.

i hope this makes good drunk food, ‘cause i’m pretty sure i’m going to steal all the apples from work and make it for my bar crawl this weekend.
